02 Overview
Sirsi gets somewhere near 3000 mm of rain a season. Roofing here is not a finishing item — it is structure. We stock colour coated steel profile sheet, galvanised plain and corrugated sheet, and cement sheet, along with the ridges, valleys, screws and closures that actually make a roof watertight.

Roofing Sheets we stock
Colour coated profile sheets
Trapezoidal steel sheet with a baked colour coating. Light, fast to fix, and cut to your exact rafter length so there are no cross laps to leak.
0.30 – 0.50 mm TCT Get priceGI corrugated sheets
The classic galvanised corrugated sheet. Heavier gauges for sheds and godowns, lighter for temporary and agricultural cover.
20 / 22 / 24 / 26 gauge Get priceGI plain sheets
Flat galvanised sheet for flashing, ducting, gutters, valley trays and fabrication.
Plain galvanised coil / sheet Get priceCement (AC) roofing sheets
Asbestos cement corrugated sheet. Stays noticeably cooler under sun than metal and does not drum in heavy rain — still the choice for many farm and godown roofs.
6 mm corrugated Get priceRidges, valleys & flashing
Plain and crimped ridge, valley gutter, barge and corner flashing in the same coated finish as the sheet.
Matched to sheet profile Get priceSelf-drilling screws & closures
Roofing screws with bonded EPDM washers, plus foam profile closures at eaves and ridge to keep out driven rain and birds.

Roofing sheet thickness & gauge reference
Reference| Type | Gauge / TCT | Approx thickness | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Colour coated profile | 0.30 mm TCT | 0.30 mm | Temporary cover, small porches |
| Colour coated profile | 0.35 mm TCT | 0.35 mm | House roofs, verandas, car porch |
| Colour coated profile | 0.40 – 0.45 mm TCT | 0.40 – 0.45 mm | Sheds, workshops, godowns |
| Colour coated profile | 0.50 mm TCT | 0.50 mm | Industrial roofs, wide spans |
| GI corrugated | 26 gauge | ≈ 0.50 mm | Light agricultural cover |
| GI corrugated | 24 gauge | ≈ 0.63 mm | General farm sheds |
| GI corrugated | 22 gauge | ≈ 0.75 mm | Godowns, workshops |
| GI corrugated | 20 gauge | ≈ 0.90 mm | Heavy-duty industrial roofing |
| Cement (AC) sheet | 6 mm | 6 mm | Farm sheds, godowns, cattle sheds |
TCT means total coated thickness — the figure to compare when someone quotes you a cheaper sheet. A 0.45 mm sheet quoted as 0.50 mm is the oldest trick in the roofing trade. Ask to measure it with a screw gauge before you pay.
05 FAQ
Roofing Sheets — your questions
Colour coated sheet or cement sheet — which is better for Sirsi rainfall?
Both shed water fine if the slope is right. Colour coated steel is lighter, faster to fix and can be supplied in one continuous length with no lap. Cement sheet runs cooler under the sun and is much quieter in heavy rain. For a house, most people take coated steel; for cattle sheds and godowns, cement sheet still wins.
What roof slope do I need here?
For this rainfall belt, do not go below about 1 in 5 (roughly 11°) on profiled steel sheet, and keep cement sheet steeper still. Flatter roofs push water back under the laps in driven rain.
Can I get sheets cut to my exact length?
Yes. Colour coated profile sheet is cut to the length you give us, which removes cross laps entirely — the single biggest source of roof leaks. Measure rafter length plus the eaves overhang before you order.
